Important Health Warning (Updated 10/26/20)

Updated Health Warning (Updated 10/26/2020)

Fox Run Health Center
Skilled Nursing

Fox Run is proud to report we have zero confirmed resident cases of COVID-19 in our Health Center.

Unfortunately, two employees who work in the Fox Run Health Center have tested positive for COVID-19.  Both employees are at home quarantining for at least 14 days until they receive a negative test result.  The latest case was reported to the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) on 10/26/2020. We as a facility continue to follow all infection control guidelines that have been set forth by the NYSDOH, Erie County DOH and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

Due to the positive cases, and in accordance with NYSDOH instructions, ALL VISITS to the Health Center are temporarily suspended. This includes Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care.  We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment that this will cause.  Visits are scheduled to resume on 11/9/2020.  All staff that work in the Fox Run Health Center continue to be tested weekly for COVID-19 until November 3rd, per executive order.

Per NYSDOH guidelines, all Skilled Nursing residents are scheduled to be tested for COVID-19 and influenza on 10/27/2020 and will be tested for both again the following week.  All residents currently in our Health Center are being monitored daily for any changes in  their health.

On October 1st NYSDOH conducted an unscheduled infection control survey on our skilled nursing unit.  This survey was created by the NYSDOH as the result of the COVID-19 crisis and is a new step to ensure that Skilled Nursing facilities around the state are following proper infection control protocols meant to protect residents and staff.  We are proud to say that the results of the survey were excellent as Fox Run is in compliance with all safety standards.

Easter Surprises for Community Members

With the help of Draudt’s Farm Market & Greenhouses, Lockwood’s Greenhouses, the Watermark Wesleyan Church, and the Fox Run Management Team, we were able to provide Easter flower arrangements to all of our Independent Living and Health Center Community Members. RVs 4 MDs Comes to Fox Run at Orchard Park

RVs 4 MDs Comes to Fox Run at Orchard Park

Katie Zoyhofski, one of our healthcare team members at Fox Run at Orchard Park, recently received a heartwarming surprise after her husband, Justin, signed her up for RVs 4 MDs—a program matching RV owners to healthcare workers seeking a space of their own to keep their households safe. Mark Hoskins lives in Binghamton (hours away from our Orchard Park community) and was eager to help. So, he drove his RV all the way to Lake View so Katie could continue keeping our Community Members and her family safe. We thank Katie for her outstanding commitment to our community, her husband Justin for his support, and Mark for going above and beyond to help.

Fox Run Hosts Superhero Parade

Fox Run Hosts Superhero Parade

To lift the spirits of the Fox Run Community Members missing their loved ones, as well as our hardworking dedicated Health Center team, the Fox Run management team coordinated a campus wide superhero-themed parade.

Many staff members and Fox Run Community Members gathered outside to walk or drive in the socially distanced parade. They were honored to enlist the participation of four members of the Superhero Alliance-SAWNY, adding a ton of excitement and fun to everyone’s experience!

You can join in on our joyful parade day by watching the video below!

We are extremely proud of the entire Fox Run team for coming together so strongly in this thoughtful display of compassion for each other.

A Surprise Visitor for Fox Run Community Member

A Surprise Visitor for Fox Run Community Member

Harold “Hank” Colligan, Fox Run Community Member, served in the US Army Air Corps for seven years. As a World War II Veteran, he was excited to have the opportunity to take an Honor Flight this year. Unfortunately, due to recent events, the flight had to be postponed until the end of summer.

This week, on the day of his original flight, Hank was sent a very special surprise visitor—Levi Wallace of the Buffalo Bills!—to keep his spirits high!

The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. Their mission is to transport America’s Veterans to Washington, DC, to visit those memorials dedicated to honor the service and sacrifices of themselves and their friends.
