Artist: Alice Seeley

September 1st - October 24th

Majoring in art was the impetus to explore varied art forms – drawing, painting, print making and design. Ultimately, using her art and design background, she opened the lemon tree gift shop in 1969. Although her venture was extremely rewarding, painting time was limited.

Eventually she returned to the arts and continued to explore watercolor, oil, mixed media and collage. At present, she is creating small sculptures in clay. “But my paints are close by.”

She is a member of the Buffalo Society of Artists, Burchfield-Penny Art Center, Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society, Western New York Artist’s Group and the East Aurora Art Society.

She has been in many juried shows and the recipient of awards for both water color and collage.

The Fox Run Art Gallery is open to the public Monday - Saturday, 9:00am - 4:00pm. Visitors must enter through the Commons Building and check-in with the receptionist.

Fox Run at Orchard Park is a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), the only one of its kind in the Southtowns. The 53-acre campus offers an independent and active lifestyle. Their standard patio home offers over 1,600 square feet of living space which includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, dining room, living room with den, full kitchen with all appliances including a stackable washer and dryer. Each patio home can be customized to meet individual needs with loft options which nearly double available living space. “We loved our old house, but the patio home fit all of our ‘stuff’. We really love it because it still feels like a house and it’s all ours,” say the Harrington’s, residents at Fox Run.

Additionally, Fox Run provides services which relieve stresses of home ownership such as maintenance, security, and housekeeping. All included in one simple Monthly Service Fee. When making her decision to move, Fox Run resident Nancy says, “I made a list of everything that I was spending on my house each month including lawn care, snow removal, and additional home improvements such as a new roof. I thought, well, I need to make this move before my washer goes too! It was the best decision I ever made!”

The Commons Building in the center of the campus provides residents with added space for social gatherings, entertaining, recreation and more. It includes a pool, fitness center, multiple dining venues, a library, greenhouse, woodworking shop, and more.

Most importantly, a 90% refundable Entrance Fee, guarantees care for life. If a resident’s health needs should unexpectedly change, they are guaranteed on-site healthcare services at no additional cost, for as long as needed. Services include assisted living, specialized memory care, and skilled nursing, in a familiar setting, right on the Fox Run campus. “I had an epiphany one day,” says Fox Run resident Peg Cornelius, “No one really wants to ever have to go to assisted living or skilled nursing, and usually they have to go alone, but here we get to be with our friends and neighbors.” With a unique Fox Run Lifecare Plan, residents and their loved ones gain true peace of mind, with a secure plan in place and predictable future costs. “We went through a medical emergency with our parents and were forced to make very rushed decisions in a stressful situation. We didn’t want to anyone to have to do that for us”, said the McCauley’s.

Fox Run is continuously growing to provide opportunities for their residents to live their life to the fullest. To find out more about community events visit www.foxrunorchardpark.com or call 716-662-5001 to schedule a private meeting or tour.

“American Odyssey”
Artist: Bob Cornelius

July 20th to August 23rd
Open Monday - Saturday: 10am - 4pm

He also acknowledges the influence of 20th Century American painter, Edward Hopper. Bob’s lifelong fascination with trains is evident in much of his work.

“I paint subjects which personally intrigue me and that I hope will capture the imagination of the viewer. If that viewer is moved to ponder what might be happening beyond a door or window, or perhaps to recall a forgotten time or event, I will have met an objective. I want the experience to be pleasing.”
